An Integrated Literature Review on Bullying Issues Related to Students with Autism Spectrum Disorders
Lee Hyo-Jung

Abstract
Recently, bullying issues have been recognized as important areas to deal with in schools. However, few studies have been conducted for students with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) even though those students have more difficulties in communication and social relationships which can increase social vulnerability related to bullying. In this study, national and international studies on bullying related to students with ASD have been reviewed in order to explore current issues and trends of the topic. A total of 26 studies have been selected and analyzed based on their research topics, subjects, methods, and results. As a result, the following areas were discussed: (1) overview of research trends, (2) definitions of bullying, (3) types of bullying, (4) bullying-victimization prevalence of students with ASD (5) students¡¯ experiences and contributors of bullying, and (6) prevention strategies and appropriate supports. The future direction of research on the topic has been suggested for better understanding of the population.
